The Infirmary

My daughter has pneumonia. She on antibiotics and all, but she's still moody and sad and limp and all those things you don't want your babies to be. I'm home from work, and as much as I'd like to rant about the unfairness of work-life balance, I just don't have it in me. If you Google the topic, I'm sure someone has written about it more eloquently than I would have so... what she said. I do have the "advantage" of being able to work from home. So I've been staring at the computer all day, answering email, clicking refresh on Facebook, scanning Tweetdeck. My eyes hurt. I have a freelance writing gig that's on a topic I don't know anything about. It's become a complete creative roadblock. I've got paintings to do, but I have to do this first. For a week, I've been up half the night tending to sickies or nightmares. I'm tired. All right! I'm done complaining! Here are a couple of paintings that I eked out last week before my ability to create, write or paint anything of merit came to a screeching halt.

  1. Poor thing. Being a sickie is never fun. Unless there are popsicles involved. Then it becomes slightly better. But only slightly.
Here’s hoping the medicine does its job and she starts feeling more human again soon!

  2. Having sick kids is no fun. When they hurt you hurt, there is no getting around it. Hope thinks smooth out for you soon. On another note, the painting of Sadie is awesome. I know my brother is going to love it. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
