So, this is kind of exciting. For the first time ever, two of my paintings were used in a magazine. I guess that kind of makes me an illustrator. The magazine is Al's Bloom, the publication for a local chain of garden centers. The marketing director approached me a few months ago (it's all who you know, right?) to commission two paintings to accompany an article on growing bean teepees. It was fun because basically I had free rein. I knew I wanted to paint a beanpole teepee with a child peering into it. Growing up in Oregon, we had a huge garden and many rows of pole beans every year. So I knew how I wanted it to look. I also wanted to do a second painting that was more of a character study. Of course, I used my kids as models. And here's how it turned out!
That is awesome! Congratulations! 😀
Congrats, that’s so cool. My kids would love that!
