Two By Two
If I’m not too tired, and the kids have their homework finished, and I don’t have a headache, and I don’t have to work late, and we’re having leftovers for dinner, and baseball or karate practice is on time, and Ron Weasley isn’t too much of a bother, I can usually complete two 5×7″ paintings in one evening.
I can get them about 98% finished before I turn out the studio lights for the night, because with watercolor there’s often a lot of waiting around for water to, you know, dry.
So then first thing in the morning – before email or coffee or capacity for verbal communication – I shuffle into my studio and finish what I started the night before. Because the thought of leaving for the office with 2% of a painting to finish is downright crazy-making.
