California Dreamin’
I've been thinking about California a lot lately. Mainly because it's cold and rainy and blustery here in Oregon right now. I have friends and blogger friends who at this very moment are sitting around in short sleeves sipping iced beverages on their patio. Meanwhile, I'm wearing layers and fingerless gloves, huddled around my space heater, icy fingers gripped around a hot mocha. It just doesn't seem fair. I haven't spent a lot of time in California, even though I was born there, but my memories are pleasant. And warm. Did I mention warm? In 2010 I went to L.A. to be part of the MTV Movie Award Celebrity Gift Lounge, and that trip really kicked my California Dreamin' into overdrive. I've been dreaming about Hollywood, palm trees and Spanish-style houses ever since. Here's a painting I did for someone I met at the MTV event.
