Gray Ghost
The kids and I were at a garden party last week and the hostess had a new Weimaraner puppy. She said that Weimaraner translated to “gray ghost” in German, but since I don’t believe anything unless I get it from the source (i.e. Wikipedia) I decided to do some research.
Turns out, while “gray ghost” is a nickname for the breed, the real origination of the name is from the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Karl August, whose court, based in the city of Weimar (now in modern day Germany), enjoyed hunting.
I haven’t painted one yet.
My daughter has become quite the shutterbug and took all of these photos, except the one she’s in.
Beautiful photos Harper! You have such a sensitive eye.
I have a real soft spot for weimararners, they’re so beautiful and sweet! Your daughter takes great photos!
