All in a Day’s Work
My daughter woke up with a fever last night, which means I’m staying home from the office today. How do they do that, by the way? Go from perfectly fine to feverish in a matter of hours?
The cons of staying home with a sick kid:
- Dude, your kid is SICK.
- You feel guilty about not going to work.
- It’s a little boring here, after the 12th episode of Spongebob.
The pros of staying home with a sick kid:
- Very relaxed dress code.
So, I’ll dose her up with some oatmeal and Junior Strength Ibuprofen. I’ll call the office. I’ll go to the Starbucks drive-thru. I’ll do a little work. I’ll do a little painting. I’ll be a cook, nurse, errand girl and laundry maid.
Honestly though, I wish every day was like this. You know, without the sick kid part.
Here’s what else I’ve been up to:

I love the look in Emmie’s eyes – as though she’s humoring her owner by looking for the photo.
