Help a Girl Decide, Already.
For the second year, I’m entering the Mutt Lynch Winery wine label contest, which of course, combines two of my favorite things – art and wine.
The wine to be labeled will be a “Muttitage” blend of the winery’s finest barrels. Only 500 bottles of wine will be produced and the Sonoma winery will donate 10% of the proceeds to the San Francisco SPCA. Wine for a good cause!
Last year, I composed a piece specifically for the contest.
This year, I’d like to enter something I’ve already done, and I want you to help me decide. I’ve narrowed it down to these guys.
Try to picture their little faces on a wine label. Who will you choose? Murphy’s playful exhuberance, Chickenbone’s soul-searing eyes or Spanky’s hang-dog hopefulness? Or do you have a better idea? Entries are due May 15, so vote early!
I’m not trying to be picky, but . . . there is only ONE mutt in those three to pick from (that would be Spanky), so I think the choice is obvious . . . .
BIG DOG gets the spot
Me and Spanky go way back together, so he gets my vote–even though the word “hopefullness” and “Spanky” have no business being in the same sentence.
Casey – I know Spanky too. You have a point.
wine makes you happy! murphy makes you happy! look at that smile… VOTE MURPH!! :>)
What?! Chickenbone is TOTALLY a mutt! In fact, he is a proud chihuahua/dachshund/pug mix. Known in some circles as a “chugweenie.” Vote Chickenbone today!
It has to be Chickenbone Jones, hands down. The little guy has had a very rough year and is the most deserving pooch.
I’m not fond of dogs, but Chickenbone is an exception. A unique appearance, a personality that’s more “person” than “dog,” and, as stated here, those “soul-searching eyes. Who wouldn’t buy a bottle?
its that lil chicken boney thing..what a cute dog! I happen to know he was paralyzed in an accident and his owners spend soo much money to have surgery done, he is now walking but they are still having to express him to help him potty..now if that’s not a winner who is??? On top of this they had a new baby..come on people….the artist captured his caring eyes so perfectly. A winner!!!
The wide-eyed Chickenbone Jones has won my heart. Wouldn’t that wine just taste so much better with that face on it?
Chickenbone’s life story drives a man to drink. Only fitting that his face be put on a bottle to help with the transition!
Chugweenie? Chug wine? Done and Done. He’s amazingly handsome and I just love those eyes.
If Chickenbone Jones doesn’t win, it’ll be a damn travesty.
